Listed below are a few suggestions to ensure the highest quality game video is attained for analysis through STEVA Plus:
-
Use a DIGITAL video camcorder on a tripod with the shutter set at high speed (sports mode). Refer to your camcorder user’s manual for instructions on changing this setting.
-
Place the tripod at a high vantage point (i.e. not at game level), even with the center of the playing surface and ensure the view is unobstructed
-
Keep as much of the playing surface in the viewfinder at all times, we recommend you DO NOT zoom the camera in or out but if you do, keep it to a minimum.
-
Follow the game play, not specific players unless the intention is to scout specific players.
-
It is preferable to only move the camera side to side on the tripod, NOT up or down
-
If possible, it is preferable to also have access to power receptacles to ensure the camera doesn't run out of power as battery performance is reduced in lower temperatures.
Practices
Listed below are a few suggestions to ensure the highest quality practice video is attained for analysis through STEVA Plus:
-
Use a digital video camcorder on a tripod with the shutter set at high speed
-
Place the tripod at a vantage point that allows you to capture what you need i.e. for individual players you may want the camera at playing level or for team analysis, you may want the camera at a higher vantage point
-
Make it clear what you want the camera operator to film, the individual players or the complete flow of the practice. It makes sense to go over the practice drills with the camera operator before the practice to ensure he/she understands what is expected
-
When possible, only move the camera side to side on the tripod, NOT up or down
-
If possible, it is preferable to also have access to power receptacles to ensure the camera doesn't run out of power as battery performance is reduced in lower temperatures.
